The PDF I send hitters who are stuck in their own head.

I get the same message a lot.

“I felt off today.”

Okay. "What was going on? Where’d the ball go? What was your focus? Did you take and watch video?"

(or did you just get in your feels and THINK something was off)

They usually always feel things too much instead of focusing on the results and the process of the results.

So I built a PDF program. A machine challenge I send to hitters who are overthinking and over-tinkering.

Here's how it works:

Ten minutes to warm up. Treated like pregame, not like a cage session.

Then straight into the challenge. No getting in your feels, no fixing anything mid-round.

Machines set up with a focus for each one.
Different speeds, different shapes, different purposes.

The variety pokes holes on purpose, so you find out fast what you handle and what falls apart.

The holes aren’t the real point though.

The real point is that for one session the hitter stops working on their swing and starts trying to beat somebody.

One rule when the hitter is done. Send me one video of one round, and tell me how you did. Not how you felt.

That line does more work than the drills do.

Get right in the ten minutes. Go fgure out how to win. Then fill me in on results

ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME, "Good day, that was fun. Score was X. Excited to do it again tomorrow"

When I'm training hitters, I'm always calculating one thing in my head. What's the simplest adjustment that will make the biggest impact? I tell hitters that when I'm staring into space, I'm computing.. haha. "If I say this, he'll do this." "I can't say this because he doesn't like it, or it didn't work for him." "If I say this, he'll overthink it, so I have to work around that idea." I do the calculating so you don't have to. To a certain extent though, right? There's a time and place for...

Pete Crow-Armstrong said something that should make a lot of hitters think.. In an interview weeks ago, he admitted it. Any time he struggled, he’d try to hit more. More cage time. More swings. More effort. HARDER. MORE. Now he’s trying to do less. Calm. Routine. Process. That’s the part most hitters will scroll past. Because it sounds backwards. But it’s the exact thing I’ve watched with my own guys for years. The hardest workers don’t always get the best results. Sometimes the guy who seems...
